Last night, Napoli celebrated winning the Scudetto, claiming the title of champions of Italy. The city of Naples was alive with celebration. Throughout the streets named after Diego Armando Maradona, thousands of fans rejoiced with songs, flares, fireworks, and club-colored banners. Following the festivities, the police reported some troubling statistics.
Hospitals treated 98 individuals, primarily injured by the abundant fireworks. Among the incidents, a Belgian tourist was inexplicably stabbed while riding a motorcycle through the city. Additionally, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, ten robberies were recorded, and four arrests were made in Naples.
To recap, Napoli's footballers secured the Italian championship with a 2-0 victory over Cagliari, with Scott McTominay and Romelu Lukaku scoring goals that preserved their one-point lead over Inter. Although Inter also celebrated with a 2-0 away win against Como, it was not enough for them to retain the Italian championship title.
