Jeremie Frimpong, the Netherlands international, has signed a lengthy contract with Liverpool FC at the AXA Training Centre. He successfully completed his medical on Friday.
Speaking for the first time to Liverpoolfc.com, Frimpong expressed, “It went quite easy. Liverpool came and said they had interest, and obviously for me it was a no-brainer.”
Frimpong continued, “For me, it was like, ‘Whatever you guys do, just get this done’, [speaking to] my agents: ‘Just get this done.’”
The new signing assured Liverpool fans of his commitment by stating, “Liverpool fans, I’m going to give my all, my energy, my work-rate and hopefully we can win together, we celebrate together, get everything together.”
Frimpong added, “I’m just excited to be here. Thank you guys for accepting me and I won’t let you guys down and I’ll give you the energy that you guys want.”
Arriving from Leverkusen, where Frimpong spent four-and-a-half seasons, he played 190 matches, netted 30 goals, and provided 44 assists. His versatility on the right side will be a great asset at Anfield.
During his time with Leverkusen, Frimpong played a pivotal role in their historic campaign, clinching the Bundesliga and DFB-Pokal titles in the 2023-24 season. Their remarkable 51-match unbeaten streak was only ended in the Europa League final.
