The governing body of European football, UEFA, has imposed a fine on Dinamo Zagreb due to unruly behavior by the club's fans during their home game in the fifth round of the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund. The Croatian champions have been ordered to pay €40,000 within 90 days because their supporters used pyrotechnics. Additionally, UEFA has issued a conditional penalty stating that part of the lower northern stand will be closed if similar incidents occur within the next two years.
There is uncertainty regarding UEFA's response in the coming days as they review Dinamo's recent home European match against Celtic this week, where fans once again used pyrotechnics in a manner similar to the Borussia game.
Dinamo is scheduled to play one more home game in the group stage of the Champions League. After their away match in London against Arsenal on January 22, they will host AC Milan in Zagreb on January 29 for the final round.
